the delphs began in the summer of 1997 and made a strong, sturdy run of the Washington DC music scene until Fall of 2000. It began as a homecoming and reunion of Will Styne and Rob Engels who were long time friends and band mates across the prior 12 years. During this time they managed to gig at nearly every local venue in the DC area and also managed pack up the van to hit the southern club circuit. With this short lifespan, they only had the opportunity to record one EP which far exceeded the band's expectations in popularity.

the delphs were a fantastic experiment that brought excitment to their fans, but most of all, to the band.

THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE SAID:

Fresh, upbeat college rock at it's best. The songs are poppy, but invoke some darker experiences at their base....Clever use of breaks and space in their songs make the three chord rock thing work pretty well for these guys....Styne's lyrics are forthright and honest, lending an air of desperation to the songs, but never so much that you leave a tune feeling depressed. - citysearch.com

Recommended if you like: songs about lost love and not necessarily caring if you get it back...a must if you like your music with great catchy hooks - Model Power Music Review

Sturdy and anxious indie-rock. - Flagpole (Athens, GA)

His voice carries an infectious edge of rebellion. It’s like his voice is saying f*** this, lets have some fun. The songs are strong and simple but not simplistic. They’re genuine and packed with great guitar chords and heavy beats. - Performance Update

Championing an oft-considered tired genre, the delphs breathe shimmering life into warm, indie-ish Power Pop...powerful, light-on-its-feet drumming propels insatiably catchy strumming, still leaving plenty of room for their vocals and harmonies...as they veer into ear-catching, bittersweet choruses of understated sonic bliss. - listen.com
